What we do / Where we work

Tanzania

Serving Friends Tanzania was founded in December 2009, and the underground water development team began hands-on work in Arusha, Tanzania, in April 2010. Since then, the team has continuously developed water wells in various regions of Tanzania. This project aims to provide clean drinking water to residents suffering from various diseases and hardships due to contaminated water. Additionally, the branch operates a mobile camp program that offers arts and physical education, as well as basic health education, for local children in the region.

Our Project

  • Development of groundwater and installation of pumps in communal living areas (schools, health centers, etc.)
  • Repair of old pumps, installation of motors, solar pumps, and water tank facilities
  • 2023 groundwater development achievements: 37 drilling attempts, 32 successful / approximately 23,800 beneficiaries

Haiti

Serving Friends Haiti was established in 2010 to support the survival and independence of residents who lost their homes during the Haiti earthquake. The branch addressed housing issues for 134 households through the Cassagne camp in Leogane and ensured the right to education for children by building elementary and middle schools within the camp. Additionally, the branch has been conducting microfinance projects to enable adults to generate income and implementing a group home project for girls in need of care and assistance.

Currently, the branch is running a group home project to protect and nurture children suffering from chronic disasters, especially infants and young children who have lost their parents or have been abandoned, to support their independence and growth.

The branch also provides care and educational support for impoverished children:

  • Offering basic necessities and regular education opportunities to children affected by chronic disasters.
  • Supporting their emotional and balanced growth through arts, music, play, and experiential activities.

Nepal

Serving Friends Nepal was established in 2012 to support the independence and growth of children suffering from poverty and disease, especially those affected by HIV/AIDS. The branch operates social enterprises and child sponsorship programs to achieve this goal.
